Torchbearer is one of my favorite characters, I just love the concept of the guy.  I was maxing him out on the ice side, and found it generally quite weak now that the generals and citidal upgrades are in the game.

He can't cast enough ice spells to control the field like he used to be able to.  The ice-side is now a one shot glass cannon until he hits higher levels.  He basically can cast one spell, and that's it in the early game.  Compare this to everyone else who can dominate by just standing around hitting things.  Torchbearer in ice-mode doesn't have that dominating ability until later levels when his spells are more devistating, he has better mana-regen items, and a stronger frost aura.

I'll keep at it and see if I can nail down exactly what he needs.  It may just be a little more mana regen for his first 6 levels or so...

I feel the same way but I have only played TorchB so far.  I will start playing other gods to see if they are stronger.

Enough base mana to cast his 1st level spells ~2.5 times oughta do it.

Just played a full game going for a full frost torch bearer and i have to admit that at low level he is a little lacking right now and its hard to rack up xp early on.

I also find him extremely powerfull at higher levels being able to freeze solid all the enemies and buildings in the vicinity along with freezed rain and beefed up movement speed. I really felt more powerfull than with the other demigods or the torchbearer with fire skills.

Well that is the choice people have to make i gues.... a weak early=strong late. Thats just the way things should go for a balanced game.

Weak, yes.  But not *gimp* like he is now.  You need to be lvl 15 before Torchbearer is really good.  The way it is now, you'll lose to Erebus well before then.  (oooo look, big mass of guys I can't effectively AoE until I get my Nova skills at lvl 2)

No, that's the way things go for a piece of shit game, because the outcome is pre-determined by the relative strengths of early and late game. How it should work is that every Demigod is equally strong at every stage.

Be polite, DeadMG. Your opinion on what makes a 'peice of shit game' isnt the same as others.

I believe that the strong early and weak late (and vice versa) is a valid balance, if used correctly. Perhaps you, and your team, are hoping to win quickly by blitzkreig. If that doesnt work, then the other team wins because they chose more latent powers. So each team has its chance to win.

This is a common thing in RTS games, which Demigod partially is. Basically, there are multiple ways to win.

Theres another thread on here where a guy is complaining that he lost to two much weaker demigods because their creeps overwhelmed him.

If I were at the weak stage of my demigod, I would focus on flag capping, killing un-chaperoned creeps, upgrading my team's creeps, and helping my teammates. AKA, a support role. Your helping your team, gaining exp, and growing more powerful.

I also think it is okay plus its called teamwork. u help your teamates until u can actually fight. As stilbine said u can put money into citadel and overwhelm them.

Yeah soccer I really like TB too and what I have found to be really effective is just trying to use potions and stay in the lane early with ice wave and level up.  Being an effective TB is all about levels of your spells.  Also with the achievement item that refreshes all cds you just nova then ice wave then refresh then do it again and it is pretty close to an instant kill when you get up there in levels.  Throw in a fireball with that combination and TB can be nasty.  He might be a little underpowered but the instant cd refresh cheapness makes up for it.
